About

Hi, my name is Abigail Brooks. I currently study Textile and Surface Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology,  where I have received an AAS (Associates in Applied Science).  In May 2024 I will receive a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in  Textile and Surface Design with a minor in Art History. I  have always loved drawing, painting, styling, sewing, and  graphic design. I chose Textiles because it can be a  combination of all or any of my interests. Through my  portfolio and internships, I have grown across various  markets of home, fashion, table top, and accessories.  One thing about me is I love to travel, and experience various  cultures. I’ve been to Australia, New Zealand, Greece, Italy,  London, France, and Monaco.

I currently live in Midtown but I grew up in Westchester, NY. My family is full of artists; my dad is a graphic designer and Creative  Director, and my mom is an Art Teacher. She also went to  FIT and was a Textile/Surface Design major. My younger  brother is an accessories design major at SCAD  (Savannah College of Art and Design).
