As the world seeks to create order in chaos, industry today aims to call out flaws in fast fashion. If we can appreciate some of the beauty that's found in the imperfect, perhaps fast fashion flaws can become high end home. Off Register seeks to embrace beauty in the imperfect as what was once a mistake becomes purposeful play. This home textile design collection draws inspiration from physical production flaws that are off register. Each design has a change to the expected, as the pattern itself misaligns, offsets, distorts, warps, fades or glitches which elevates them to a higher aesthetic. Off Register uses definitions of “register” as motif inspiration while capturing visual changes that are in some way “off register”, allowing these designs to come together through a unique and unexpected unity.
